Proposal for Digital Learning & Design Project

We invite proposal submissions at any time. DLD reviews proposals weekly and you can expect to hear from us the week following your submission. Instructors may reach out to the DLD team ([email protected]) to request assistance completing and submitting this proposal.


We invite Brown instructors to submit proposals to partner with members of the DLD team on projects relating to:

  1. designing and developing a new hybrid or fully online course
  2. re-designing an existing in person course into a hybrid or fully online modality*
  3. developing a digitally-enhanced course element (e.g., assignment, assessment 
  4. creating sustainable media to support pedagogy and course outcomes
  5. integrating technologies to enhance digital learning experiences in a course
  6. engaging in research on new approaches to digital teaching and learning
  7. re-design an in person course in the remote accessible format

*Note - Brown university defines instructional modalities by the following:

  1. fully residential as a traditional instructional approach in which all students attend a course in-person at the same location time; 
  2. hybrid as an instructional approach that includes a combination of online and in-person activities that integrate with one another in a cohesive manner; and,
  3. fully online as an instructional approach conducted via the computer and/or the Internet in which neither the students nor the instructors meet in-person at any point during the course)
